Are there calendar restraints on summer funding for faculty?
Yes. funding for 2020-2021 MiniGrants comes from the general fund, so the earliest it can be spent is 1 July 2020 and the latest it can be spent is 30 June 2021.
Is there a limit on the amount of reassigned time I can request?
While there is no explicit limit given in the Request for Proposal on the amount of reassigned time you can ask for, it would be unusual for the MiniGrant Review Committee to approve a request for more than three (3) WTU. However, the MiniGrant Review Committee recognizes that teaching assignments vary across disciplines, so it may be reasonable for some proposals to request fewer that three (3) WTU and others to request more. It is up to the applicant to justify in their proposal (i.e., in their narrative or budget justification) why the request for reassigned time is important and appropriate.
